Doorknob Attempt 2
Home Depot Knob Kit Measurements:

Re-modelling with the new modular approach:

Prepping for 3D Print:
(approach without support material was selected)

3D Print + Assembly:

Final:

Push can only be pushed, pull can be pulled and signifies that with how it can be grasped. Hopefully this can change the mental model of what we do with a door knob - clear signifiers exist without type to indicate the action needed- oh, and smooth design minimizes clothes catching. They should be flush to the door though - that would be what I change for the next iteration.

Reflection:
I'm really glad I attempted this project again. I feel like I built one solution to a real-world problem. The new push knob is much more cohesive with the pull design and I'm glad the assembly was a more appropriate joining with the home depot kit. It's not perfect, I would like it to be more seamless and I really wanted to use screw-joints... but I'll have to leave it here for now. That's it for attempt 2 of attempt 2.
